Warning after dog becomes sick after 'horrible' suspected baiting in Melbourne park
Dog owners are being warned to be vigilant after a suspected baiting attack in Melbourne's inner suburbs.
Chris Harding observed a man acting suspiciously who he believes laid the baits shortly before his beloved dog Charlie became sick at a South Yarra dog park this morning.
"The guy proceeds to stand up and he kind of very quickly scooted away," Harding said.

The dog owner had been on high alert as there'd been signs warning of recent baiting in the area.
But it was too late to stop Charlie from ingesting an unknown substance and getting violently ill.
When Charlie kept vomiting, Harding took him to an emergency vet who said it was likely the dog had been poisoned.

"I was really worried, really nervous about the wellbeing of my dog," he said.
Charlie is recovering well and the incident has been reported to police.
