December deadline for Vic CSG inquiry

A parliamentary inquiry into coal seam gas exploration in Victoria has been given until December to report its findings.

A moratorium on the controversial industry's expansion into Victoria will remain in place until then, the state government said in a statement on Wednesday.

Victorian Energy Minister Lily D'Ambrosio said the inquiry would "engage with farmers, local councils and regional Victorians and thoroughly get to the bottom of CSG exploration".
