Country Victorian town fires cause a stir

Fireworks were heard erupting from a college oval moments before two fires tore across 15 metres of grass in the Northern Grampians region.

Earlier in the day, a nearby shop at Rupanyup had been scorched by an internal fire that caused significant damage to the store and an adjoining business on Saturday.

Police have not said whether arson is suspected or if the two are linked but are appealing for witnesses to both fires.
