Country Vic first homebuyer grant doubles

The government grant for first home buyers in regional Victoria is to double to $20,000.

The funds will apply to first homes valued at up to $750,000 and the measure will take affect from July 1, both Fairfax and News Corp regional publications report.

The grant applies to new properties only and not established homes.
