Concerns over tinnie terror court case

Lawyers for six Australian men accused of plotting to join an Islamic State faction by boat are worried they may run out of public funding to defend the men.

Musa Cerantonio, Paul Dacre, Shayden Thorne, Kadir Kaya, Murat Kaya and Antonio Granata have been charged over an alleged plan to sail from Cape York to the Philippines to join Islamic State sympathisers.

The men's defence is being funded by Victoria Legal Aid, and on Wednesday their lawyers requested the Melbourne Magistrates' Court direct the organisation to appear in court and address funding concerns.
