Cold snap brings snow to Vic

A cold snap sweeping across Victoria is causing snow to fall on ski resorts across the state.

A cold front bringing cool air and rain means all of Victoria's major ski resorts are expecting snow, including Falls Creek, Mount Hotham and Mount Baw Baw.

Alpine areas are expecting lows of around 1C on Thursday with up to 15 millimetres of snow in some areas, the Bureau of Meteorology says.

Pictures from Falls Creek on Twitter show a dusting of snow already covering the resort, with a thick blanket expected to build over the next three days.

It'll be cold and wet across Melbourne too, with temperatures expected to stay below 15C and a high to very high chance of rain until Saturday.
