Claims Vic cops planted gun on dead victim

The family of a bank robber shot dead by Victorian police in the 1980s want an inquest into his death reopened following new evidence that a gun was planted near his unarmed body.

Bank robber Graeme Jensen was shot dead in his car by the armed robbery squad in October 1988.

Assistant Commissioner Robert Hill - then a sergeant - was charged with his murder but later acquitted at trial.

Jensen's sister, Fay Spear, has filed an application with the Coroner's Court asking them to consider new evidence from a former detective and a surveillance officer that her brother was unarmed and that a gun was planted near his body.
