Protesters were heard chanting "shame on you" and "save the children" during the meeting.
Monash Chief Executive Officer, Dr Andi Diamond said the event would introduce children to "diverse role models and encourages acceptance, love, and respect of people in our LGBTIQA+ community".

The story time event is scheduled to take place on May 19.
