Charges laid over Melbourne train assault

Seven teens have been arrested over an alleged assault of a woman on a Melbourne train.
The 23-year-old Clayton woman was allegedly attacked after being confronted by the youths, aged between 16 and 19, aboard an early-morning Pakenham service on March 10.
A 19-year-old Pakenham man was on Saturday charged with stealing her purse among other assault-related offences.

Three 16-year-old girls were charged with recklessly causing injury, affray and unlawful assault, while another three girls were released after questioning.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and required hospital treatment.
