Vic brothel shooting accused in custody

A man has been charged with 22 offences after he allegedly fired bullets into a Melbourne brothel.

Patrick O'Kelly, 26, of Narre Warren, was charged with four counts of reckless conduct and endangerment relating to the March 30 shooting.

Six workers were lucky not to be injured when shots were fired at Club 859 in Caulfield South at 3am on Wednesday, police said.

O'Kelly is further charged with being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, trafficking methylamphetamine, stealing a $40,000 Porsche and a $23,000 ute and driving while disqualified.

Billie Francis, 23, of no fixed address, has been charged with trafficking methylamphetamine and stealing the Porsche.

Police allege O'Kelly and Francis were in possession of Xanax, GHB and methylamphetamine the night of the shooting.

O'Kelly was not required to appear in court on Thursday for the matter's first hearing.

The court heard he is withdrawing from ice and has some bruises.

He will face court on July 7.

Francis, who appeared briefly, will return to court on April 21.
