Charge over Melbourne speargun shooting

A woman is in a critical condition after she was shot in the face with a speargun in Melbourne overnight.

The 43-year-old was hospitalised after the incident at a Hallam house about 11.30pm on Saturday.

A Hallam man, 46, has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury and has been remanded in custody following an out of sessions hearing to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
