CFMEU scandal dominates Victorian Parliament

Pressure over the CFMEU scandal in Victoria is showing no signs of letting up for Labor.

The issue dominated the first day of Victorian parliament after the winter break.

Premier Jacinta Allan walked in to face a raucous question time.

"It is now incumbent on the Premier to come clean about what she knew," opposition leader John Pesutto said.

"I have answered this question repeatedly," Allan said.

There were also questions outside of Parliament, including for one former union boss turned MP Luba Grigorovitch, who was asked if she had any regrets supporting John Setka.

"I'm not going to go into any conversations between me and John," Kororoit MP Grigorovitch said.

The industrial relations minister was overseas when claims of kickbacks and thuggery hit the headlines.

Tim Pallas admitted he has had plenty of complaints about the union.

"This is a robust industry that has many disputes and disagreements, and they use colourful language and behaviour," he said.

But he maintained The Age and 60 Minutes reporting was the first he had heard of criminal allegations.

"The events that recently came to the government's knowledge were acted on immediately," Pallas said.
