Catamaran destroyed by fire at St Kilda

Flames have engulfed a 40-foot Catamaran at St Kilda Pier.

Crews using retardant foam took more than an hour to control the blaze, the Metropolitan Fire Department (MFB) said on Tuesday evening.

While the vessel was substantially damaged, two nearby boats were untouched.

"(There) appears to be no injuries but the owner of the vessel is being checked by Ambulance Victoria as a precaution," the MFB said in a statement.
