Casey's scandal-plagued council will be sacked, with its fate sealed at a state government cabinet meeting.
Monday's meeting decided to act on the recommendations of an independent monitor, according to multiple media reports.
The Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission has been investigating allegations of corrupt conduct involving councillors and property developers at the southeastern Melbourne council.

In November the state government also appointed its own representative - experienced board director Laurinda Gardner - to monitor the council.
Parliament will resume on Tuesday and legislation will be introduced that is expected to pass through quickly.
