Car thief does runner on Melb freeway

The driver of a stolen car has taken off on foot after smashing into another car on a Melbourne freeway.

The stolen car was turning onto the freeway at high speed in Noble Park when it hit the other car, police said.

The car thief jumped out of the car and ran off while the other driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
