An 86-year-old great-grandmother in Melbourne has escaped unscathed after a car ploughed into the bed she was sleeping in.
The driver of the car reportedly fell asleep at the wheel before crashing into Ethel Neal's Mill Park house this morning, pushing the bed across the room and showering her in glass, an ambulance spokesman said.
Ms Neal escaped uninjured, while the driver of the car was taken to the Northern Hospital in a stable condition.
Ms Neal's son, Stephen Paul, said his mother was shaken but otherwise unhurt.
"People say it's lucky but she's had a car drive through her front window, so I don't know how lucky that is," he told 9NEWS.
"We’ll stay with her and if she does start feeling sick we’ll take her straight to hospital.”
Police investigations are ongoing.
