Forest fires are burning across the western Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. On Saturday local time, there were 452 forest fires burning, totalling nearly 1.3 million hectares. Hundreds of new fires are starting on a daily basis.

FORECAST

Unusually dry weather and high temperatures have fuelled the unprecedented outbreak. Lightning is sparking some of the fires. Fire danger in west may decrease briefly over the weekend but will likely return to very high next week.
