Builders called for Melbourne Metro

Expressions of interest have been called for builders for the $11 billion Melbourne Metro rail project.

The process will close on June 9, with work to begin in 2018.

"We've got the world's best constructors banging on our door," Acting Premier James Merlino told reporters on Thursday.
