Boy, 13, charged with Melbourne robberies

A 13-year-old boy has been charged with armed robbery and other offences, alongside a 21-year-old man, following several incidents in Melbourne's northern suburbs.

The pair, both from Heidelberg West, were arrested on Thursday night and charged with several offences, including armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, robbery and assault, police said.

Both faced an out of sessions court hearing on Thursday night and were remanded in custody.

The 21-year-old will appear at Melbourne Magistrate's Court, while the teenager will appear at a children's court on Friday.

Police are continuing their investigation into five armed robberies, which took place in Heidelberg West and Preston between Monday and Tuesday.
