Bomb squad called to Melbourne shopping centre

Shoppers have been allowed back in to a mall in Melbourne's northern suburbs which was evacuated following reports of a suspicious package.
Rivergum Village Shopping Centre was partially cleared after the detection of a suspicious package on the property.
Police units including the bomb squad were on scene to investigate.

A short time later, police cleared the area, and deemed it was safe.
The centre was reopened to trade as normal.
