Battery blamed for Melbourne laptop fire

An exploding laptop has sparked a fire at a Melbourne home.
Firefighters arrived at the suburban Canterbury residence on Sunday night and found the home's occupants had already extinguished some small spot fires.
The laptop was fitted with an after-market battery purchased online, which the Metropolitan Fire Brigade said had probably overheated after being left charging.
