A 17-year-old has been charged after allegedly stabbing another boy in Melbourne's west.

The 15-year-old was allegedly stabbed in the stomach after being chased down following a fight between a group of boys in Bacchus Marsh on November 16, police said.

The alleged attack was filmed and footage, sighted by 9News, was shared on the social media platform Snapchat.

Emergency services were called to Bennett Street in Bacchus Marsh last week after reports a teenage boy had been stabbed. Nine

The 17-year-old accused, from the western suburbs, was arrested yesterday and interviewed by police.

He has been charged with intentionally causing injury, reckless conduct endangering life and using a controlled weapon without a lawful excuse.

The teen was remanded in custody to appear before a children's court.
