Autopsy confirms Vic death suspicious

The death of a man inside a Melbourne public housing flat has been found to be suspicious and is being treated as a homicide.

The body of the man in his 60s was found by police at the housing commission flats in Elizabeth Street, Richmond just after noon on Sunday.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman says an autopsy was completed on Monday.

"We're not saying anything about the injuries but we believe the death is suspicious," she told AAP on Tuesday.

Homicide detectives are investigating.
