Anti-race protest to mourn Red Cadeaux

Anti-horseracing activists will protest in Melbourne on Sunday after the death of Melbourne Cup hopeful Red Cadeaux.

The horse was euthanised on Saturday after fracturing its leg during the Melbourne Cup earlier in November.

"With 127 horses dying on Australian racetracks since the last Melbourne Cup, it's time for a serious shake-up of horseracing to ensure the welfare of the horse comes first," Coalition for the Protection of Racehorses campaign director Elio Celotto said.
