Three men arrested after ex-serviceman stabbed in road rage incident

Three men have been arrested amid an ongoing investigation into a road rage incident in Melbourne's south-west last year.

Police allege a 53-year-old man was driving a white Ford ute on November 2 in Altona Meadows when he was stabbed during the incident with two occupants from another vehicle, who then fled the scene.

Andrew, an ex-serviceman, sustained "serious" injuries.

Andrew said a woman who witnessed the attack saved his life, holding his stabs wounds and encouraging him to stay alive until an ambulance arrived.

"If it wasn't for her I'd be dead," he told 9News previously.

The Altona Meadows father said he was sure he was going to die.

"I said goodbye to my mum and dad, my kids, my family."

Andrew survived his serious injuries but has had a long recovery.

This morning, police arrested a 20-year-old man and charged him with intentionally causing serious injury in relation to the road rage incident.

He was due to face Melbourne Magistrates' Court this evening.

Two other men were arrested and charged with unrelated offences.

An 18-year-old Truganina man was charged with drug trafficking and firearm offences, while another 18-year-old Truganina man was charged with failing to appear on bail.

The first 18-year-old was due to face the Melbourne Magistrates' Court this evening, while the last man was been bailed to appear in court at a later date.
