Alleged stabber to face Melbourne court

A Melbourne man is expected to face court on Sunday after allegedly stabbing three people, including a man left fighting for life.

The 24-year-old Clayton South man was tasered by police after a brief stand-off during which he threatened self-harm on Saturday morning at Doveton.

He has been charged with 29 offences including aggravated burglary, intentionally and recklessly causing serious injury and false imprisonment.

He appeared at an out-of-sessions court hearing on Saturday and was remanded to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court again on Sunday.

One of the women tried to flee, running up the road to a neighbour's house while the alleged offender followed, the Herald Sun reported.

All four people are believed to be known to each other.
