Administrators to run Geelong council

Administrators have been appointed to run the City of Greater Geelong following the dismissal of councillors and mayor Darryn Lyons.

Kathy Alexander, Peter Dorling and Laurinda Gardner will run the local government until the next council elections in October 2017.

In April, the state government sacked the council after an independent Commission of Inquiry found it was dysfunctional and riddled with internal conflict.
