Accused robber 'assaulted Vic cop'

A Geelong man has appeared in court charged with assaulting a police officer during a botched armed robbery.
Chris Alexander, 26, appeared before Geelong Magistrates Court on Friday charged with 16 offences, including attempted armed robbery, assault with a weapon and assaulting a police officer.
He did not apply for bail and has been remanded into custody to reappear in court in April.
