Vic rock climber's body retrieved in SA

The body of a Victorian rock climber who fell from a South Australian cliff has been recovered.

Police retrieved the body on Friday following a seven-hour operation.

The 36-year-old had been climbing at Upalinna, 40km north of Hawker in the Flinders Ranges, on Thursday afternoon when he slipped on loose rocks and plunged 50 metres to his death.

Police are preparing a report for the coroner.
