Vic public jury to debate obesity crisis

The jury will sit - Victoria's ballooning waistline needs immediate attention.
VicHealth is set to hold a citizens' jury in October to debate the potential solutions for the state's burgeoning obesity problem.
The obesity jury, made up of 100 Victorians from all walks of life, will give policy makers an insight into how the average Victorian would cut the fat.

"This is a pioneering approach in the way government makes decisions and manages difficult community issues," VicHealth said in a statement on Thursday.
The forum will also review submissions from food producers, community groups and government organisations.
