Vic police impersonator charged

A Melbourne man allegedly pretended to be an undercover policeman to scam cash and sexual favours from a prostitute.
Police allege the 40-year-old told an escort worker he was an undercover policeman and then demanded sex and money from her in St Kilda on April 16.
The St Kilda man has been charged with impersonating a police officer and attempting to obtain sexual penetration by fraud.

He was bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on September 12.
Police on Thursday appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
