Vic police hunt man over indecent act

A young woman has managed to flee from a man who acted indecently and tried to grab her in a Melbourne university car park.

The woman, 21, had parked at the Bundoora car park when she was approached from behind by the man at about 11.25am (AEDT) on March 4.

Police said the woman saw him walking behind her with his hands down his pants, groping himself.

The man also made suggestive comments to her and tried to grab her backpack but she ran away and got help from a passerby.

The offender was sweating during the incident and mumbling to himself, police said.

He is described as Caucasian, aged 30 to 40, of solid build and about 175 centimetres tall.

He had shoulder-length brown hair in a ponytail, was unshaven and had tattoos on his lower right leg, and was wearing a dark-blue singlet and sand-coloured shorts.
