Police arrest five Apex gang members in Melbourne

Detectives targeting Melbourne's notorious Apex gang have arrested five teenagers they say were behind two aggravated burglaries over the weekend.
The teens allegedly assaulted occupants at two homes in the city's southeast yesterday morning before stealing luxury cars, mobile phones and a computer.
Three of the gang members have been charged with aggravated burglary, assault and car theft - among other offences - and remanded in custody.

Two others have been released pending further inquiries.
The Apex gang was suspected to be behind last month’s riots at the Moomba festival in the CBD.
