Vic man dies after swim to shore

A man has died after swimming to shore as his boat was sinking in Melbourne's southwest.
Police say he was one of three men on the vessel about 800 metres from Point Cook when it began taking on water about 5.45pm (AEDT) on Sunday.
All made it to land but one yet to be formally identified died at the scene a short time later.

The other two men were unharmed.
The exact cause of the man's death is yet to be determined.
