Vic man attacked outside rail station

A man was brutally attacked by two men while he was walking to catch his early morning train to work.

The 44-year-old was outside the Upfield train station when he was confronted by the pair, just before 5am on Friday May 2.

They threw a bottle at his head before pushing him to the ground and kicking him in the face.

The victim stumbled to a ticket counter where Metro staff assisted him. He was treated in hospital for a broken nose and facial fractures.

Police say the attackers then robbed a nearby service station of food and drinks.

Security images show the men are caucasian, in their 20s.
