A 91-year-old woman with a walking frame has been killed after she was hit by a vehicle backing out of a Melbourne driveway.
Police believe the woman was walking with a Zimmer frame across Treadwell Road in Niddrie as a vehicle backed out of a driveway at low speed just before 4pm on Wednesday.
The Essendon woman was found lying on the road behind the vehicle with critical injuries.

She was taken to hospital but died late on Wednesday.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
The road toll is now 61 compared to 49 at this time last year.
