Vic ambos all for paramedics on motorbikes
AAP
Paramedics on motorbikes will become a permanent addition to Victoria's ambulance service after a trial found they responded to emergencies quicker than fully equipped vehicles.
The ability of motorcycle units to move through heavy traffic and use bike paths or walking tracks meant they can reach accident scenes quickly.
During the three-year trial, road ambulances were dispatched at the same time as the motorcycles but the bikes' quick response helped free up the bigger vehicles for other jobs.
