Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull says the strong alliance ties between Australia and the US have been reinforced during his visit.
"It is a very tightly connected global economy and our security, each nation's, each society's security depends on the other," he told reporters in Washington D.C.
Mr Turnbull has used the trip to the US to talk up Australia's border protection policies and rally support for the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement.
