Donald Trump to call Malcolm Turnbull from White House

US President Donald Trump is scheduled to speak with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull from the White House tomorrow.

It will come after Trump holds a day of briefings with his National Security Council and intelligence agencies.

The White House has organised the call for 7.45am Australian eastern time, which is late in the afternoon in Washington DC.

There are no details about the topics for discussion, but North Korea is expected to be high on the list.

The first phone conversation between the pair made headlines around the world, when Trump and Turnbull clashed over the refugee swap deal organised before the president was elected.
