US band OneRepublic settle Origin Game 2 with a thumb war
US band OneRepublic have weighed in on tonight’s big match between the Blues and Maroons - insisting on settling the outcome with a thumb war.
“The only way to predict the result of tonight’s State of Origin game - a thumb war,” the band tweeted earlier today.
A video clip shows two band members – singer Tedder and guitarist Zach Filkins – battling it out clad in the opposing teams jerseys.
Filkins comes out on top, predicting a Blues victory - and roaring in celebration, launching a table out of the way in excitement.
OneRepublic are just one of the all-star groups to weigh in, their inclusion coming after The Wiggles also backed the Blues to win.
The music groups weren't enough to rattle the Queensland police, who got their C litter puppies to predict the winners.
