A US airline is reportedly tracking down up to 800 passengers linked to Ebola-infected nurse Amber Vinson after it emerged she may have had symptoms earlier than originally suspected.

Ms Vinson flew from Dallas to Cleveland on Frontier Airlines earlier this week after being cleared to fly by the CDC.

However, she was hospitalised just a day later and diagnosed with Ebola.

Now, Frontier Airlines is notifying not just the passengers with Ms Vinson on that flight, but also the passengers on a number of the plane's subsequent flights between the two centres, CNN has reported.

It has also emerged doctors believe Ms Vinson may have been showing symptoms of Ebola even several days before the flight.

Ms Vinson was part of the care team for Liberian national Thomas Eric Duncan, the first patient diagnosed with Ebola in the US.

Duncan died in hospital last week.

Another of his nurses, Nina Pham, has also been diagnosed with Ebola.
