All 39 of Australia's universities are set to publicly release sexual assault data from a human rights watchdog's study.

The Human Right Commission is conducting a national survey on university student experiences of sexual assault and harassment.

Universities Australia chief executive Belinda Robinson has confirmed all institutions' data will be released and ethics approval was received for the survey.

The commission's report will be finalised by mid-year and individual universities' data will be unveiled at the same time.
