Union royal commissioner to front inquiry

The head of the royal commission into trade unions will front a parliamentary committee looking into double dissolution legislation to crack down on union corruption.

Former royal commissioner Dyson Heydon last year referred several union figures to authorities when releasing his findings, some of which remain secret and are used by the government as examples of thuggery.

He'll appear at a public hearing into legislation to resurrect the Australian Building and Construction Commission in Melbourne on October 4 alongside representatives of the CFMEU and the Australian Chamber of Commerce.
