Man dies after being pulled from waterhole south of Sydney
A 27-year-old man has died after being pulled from the Mermaid Pools in Tahmoor, south of Sydney.
Police say the Pakistani national had been swimming with friends at the popular area about 12.30pm when he dived into the water and signalled for help.
Paramedics were winched onto rocks to try and resuscitate the man after he went into cardiac arrest, but he died at the scene.
The man’s death in Tahmoor means at least 12 people have drowned in NSW oceans and waterways over the Christmas period.
The body of a 42-year-old man missing in the Murrumbidgee River was found today.
A 46-year-old Yamba man also died after he was pulled from the Kolara Lake Reserve in northern NSW around 2pm.
Hours earlier, a body was found in the search for a 14-year-old boy missing at Sydney’s Maroubra beach.
Meanwhile, a 19-year-old man is missing after jumping into waterhole at Killarney Glen, on the Gold Coast.
