Uber’s ‘kittens on demand’ service hits Australia for one day only

Australian customers of car service Uber can today have kittens delivered to them with just a press of a button.

For a price of $40, lucky customers can cuddle up to a kitten for 15 minutes and receive a gift bag.

The stunt has drawn criticism from animal welfare groups, but Uber says it’s all for a good cause to raise awareness for pet adoption.

All funds raised through the stunt are to be donated to animal shelters in each participating city.

All you have to do is select the “Kittens” option within the app for your dose of adorable goodness between midday and 4pm today.

Sydney, Melbourne, Geelong, Perth, Brisbane and the Gold Coast are the cities involved.

Uber warns demand for kittens will be high and availability limited.
