Sydney Uber driver Muhammad Naveed found guilty of raping female passenger

Uber driver Muhammad Naveed has been found guilty of raping a female passenger he picked up in Sydney's Kings Cross in 2015.
The 41-year-old was today found guilty of having sexual intercourse without consent with the heavily intoxicated woman after picking her up on a Saturday night in October 2015.
A Downing Centre Local Court jury took only hours to reach its verdict despite Naveed testifying the woman had asked him for sex.
The Crown argued throughout the trial that the pair had intercourse but the woman did not consent or was too intoxicated to give consent.
"When she was sitting on my lap she asked specifically for sex," Naveed said in court.
The court also heard that Naveed stopped at a BP service station to buy condoms, before he pulled over to sexually assault the woman.
She awoke to the driver having sex with her, the court heard.
When asked if he could detect any alcohol on her breath when they kissed, Naveed replied "there was no taste, there was no smell".
