Uber driver attack caught on dash cam
An horrific attack on an Uber driver by three passengers in Surfers Paradise has been captured on dash camera.
In an exclusive interview with 9News, the driver described how he was threatened after asking his passengers, two men and a woman, not to eat in the car, just before 4am on Sunday.

"Please don't eat Subway in the car," the driver asks.
"Oh get f-----," one passenger says.
"We are not going to spill bro."
Over 25 minutes the attack continued and eventually the driver was forced to call triple zero.
“I am holding him hostage, I have got a gun and I am going to f------ shoot him,” one passenger says.
"“I have got an AK 47 and I am going to blow this s--- up."
“I'll punch your f------ head in, I swear to god,” a passenger threatens.
The driver, who doesn't want to be identified, said it was a terrifying ordeal.
“This guy was telling me, I am going to smash your face and I am going to smash your car as well,” the driver told 9News.

He said he offered to cancel the trip but the attack only continued.
“How about I just smash your whole car up?” the passenger replied.
About 15 minutes into the journey one of the passengers attempted to destroy the evidence by smashing the dash camera, but failed.
When they arrived at their Paradise Point destination one passenger threw a large rock at the car.
Uber has condemned the behaviour, saying violence towards drivers won't be tolerated.
The ride-share company has also banned the abusive passenger from using the service, removing their access to the app.
The incident has been reported to police who say anyone threatening drivers can be charged and end up in court.
Holly James from Queensland Police said perpetrators will be punished.
“They actually have your details so it makes it easier to track you down and there will be consequences of your actions,” she said.
“It puts the driver in danger, it puts other road users in danger.”
