Two young boys suffering from burns as result of 'misadventure' on NSW coast

Misadventure has left two young boys in hospital suffering from serious burns on the New South Wales south coast.

Authorities said they were called to a home in Bomaderry just after 9.30pm following reports two children had been burned.

A nine-year-old boy suffered burns to his face and hands and was airlifted to the Children's Hospital at Randwick in a serious condition.

Another boy, 11, was taken to Bomaderry Hospital with burns to his arms and hands and is in a stable condition.

Police said they established a crime scene but believe the incident was a result of misadventure and not criminal.

There is no word on what exactly occurred.
