Stabber sought after two teens wounded in Sydney's west

Police are still seeking a third person after a double stabbing in Sydney's west left two teenaged boys in hospital.

One was stabbed in the chest and the other in the back in the incident, which took place on Witney Street in Prospect this afternoon.

Forensic officers are now at the scene and much of the suburban street is still cordoned off. 

They were taken to Westmead Children's Hospital, one in a serious condition and the other serious but stable.

Police said both boys were 14-years-old. Both remain in hospital.

Police on the scene were interviewing witnesses and crews have been searching for a weapon and collecting blood samples.

It is believed the stabbing started in the street before moving to a nearby family home.
