Two people pulled alive from burning house in Dallas

Two people, including a child have been pulled from a burning house in Melbourne's northern suburbs last night.

The family of six is lucky to be alive after the raging fire engulfed the house just after midnight.

The Metropolitan Fire Brigade said it received multiple calls alerting them to a house fire on Dallas Drive in Dallas.

When they arrived they found the single storey building well-alight and managed to drag two occupants out of the building.

The pair were treated for smoke inhalation by MFB firefighters, before paramedics took over.

Twenty firefighters and five trucks were brought in to fight the blaze, which threatened a neighbouring property.

They were able to spare the neighbouring home from damage.

After 30 minutes the fire was brought under control.

The MFB said the cause of the fire is unknown and a full investigation will be carried out.
